Common Hardware Failure Symptoms with Steps to remove it

Smooth running of computer hardware components is important and play a crucial role in keeping you away from minor or major computer problems. In many cases, hardware equipments may fail eventually which give you no chance to undo the effect or the loss you are about to suffer with.

However, you can find tutorials here on symptoms of most common hardware failures like failing hard drive, damaged graphics processing unit or memory module, faulty processor etc.. Each type of failure can ultimately lead to loss of precious data that you had saved in a long past or using while the failure actually strikes.

After finding the root cause, you will be able to find the faulty hardware equipment and contact technician for support or change/replace the hardware parts by your own, if you are bit professional and loves to play with computer. So below are the most common hardware failure issues along with tips on how to prevent the failure.

# Computer Freezing Problem
This problem occurs most frequently and you might not notice whenever it happens. However, in some cases, computer freezes for a long time typically for over 5-10 minutes and makes you unable to perform any function. In the end, the only option left for you is to restart PC forcefully i.e., removing the power source and connecting it back again. This forceful shut down ultimately leads to loss of documents or media that you were using at that time.

The common reasons behind computer freezing could be failing hard drive like bad sectors and blocks, failing head or spindle motor and others. The best bet in this case is to back up all the data immediately and seek for the hard drive replacement.

# Blue or Black Screen Errors
These errors are also known as STOP errors (Blue screen of death) and happen when anything goes wrong with your PC due to bad or wrong memory modules. You can test memory modules by employing various combination of RAM on different slots. So that you can find and remove the bad RAM or swap out with correct memory module combination.

These errors can also occur because of outdated drivers, moving hard drive parts or faulty applications. You need to test hard drive for failing parts and replace it if possible. In the mean time, it’s also advisable to update system and all of its drivers, remove unnecessary program or unauthorized third party applications. Moreover, a fresh installation of Windows can also help you to fix various other types of blue or black screen errors.

# Booting Failure
Sometime, your PC becomes completely inaccessible or unable to start and gives you different errors on startup such as 'NTLDR is missing', 'bootmgr is missing', 'boot.ini file is missing' etc. This could happen due to off wrong BIOS settings, damaged Windows files, virus/malware attacks, hard drives bad sectors and blocks and many others.

Finding the correct reasons behind various booting problems seems typical and might give you no choice other than to replace the complete system. However, we could perform few tweaks before replacing the system to make sure that the errors are impossible to remove. Perform a complete system restore, use inbuilt disk check utilities, repair system using system recovery options, use a premium anti-virus software to find and remove virus/malware threats from BIOS and storage area.

# Extreme heat overflow or noise from the CPU case
CPU fans requires a standard temperature to run smoothly, but in cases of abnormal temperature, CPU might produce heavy noise and heat which is sufficient to damage internal hardware parts. Dust can also cause CPU fans and other internal hardware parts to become unstable which ultimately damage the normal working of your computer.

You are advised to keep the CPU at a normal room temperature and remove dust from the CPU case with the help of dust remover.

The above said things are sufficient for smooth running of your PC and if followed on regular intervals, can greatly increase the life of your computer.
