Since, the boot sector is responsible for successful start up of computer system therefore it is the main target of the virus programs. Some of these viruses replace the actual boot sector code with their own codes while other moves the boot sector from its original location to another and thus, in this way they corrupt the hard drive of your computer and necessitates you to go for hard disk recovery.

Resolution:

The best way to protect your computer against boot sector virus is good anti-virus software which has definitions for latest viruses. A good and updated anti-virus scans and removes the viruses. However, at times the boot sector viruses are difficult to remove and even the strongest anti-virus program fails to clean it. And thus, the only way to remove these viruses is formatting of your hard drive. As we know formatting deletes all the data but if you have an updated backup of all your crucial files then you can very easily restore all of them. But in the absence of updated backup the only way left to restore all your valuable data and files is disk recovery software. One such software is Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery software. This software scans your hard drive and locates all the folders and files which are deleted by the viruses or hard drive formatting. The software is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, Server 2003, 2000, and NT and supports recovery of more than 185 different file types.
